General Applications
Fire curtain cover guard is designed as a welding protection material
for use in the marine, offshore and petrochemical industry as well as
other heavy welding plants. It has a fibreglass base fabric meeting US
military specification MIL-Y-1140C and has been impregnated with our
specially formulated silicone rubber compound. The product has recently
been tested to British Standard 476 Part 7, for the surface spread of
flame and obtained the highest classification possible of Class 1. It is
also the first welding blanket to meet the FM Global approval standard
4950 for welding blankets. This heavy duty fabric provides greater life,
water and oil repellency than uncoated fabrics, whilst providing low
smoke and high fire retardancy.

These materials are approved to class 0 and class 1 respectively,
the base material is a woven glass fibre coated with a specially
formulated fluorine free silicone rubber coating, specifically developed
for use within the offshore and land based construction market places.
This material is particularly suitable for use in the manufacture of
re-moveable, re-useable insulation covers in environments where water
repellence, UV light stability and resistance to heat and fire are of
paramount importance. This material is soft and pliable and easy to sew.
Other applications include welding curtains, equipment covers,
containment, awnings, smoke curtains and blinds, cavity wall barriers
and other types of fire and smoke control.
fire-curtain cover guard has been designed for the most demanding
applications within these hazardous industries, being fully approved to
naval engineering standards.
The fire-curtain cover guard range is manufactured to the highest levels
of quality, service and safety, fully mil-traceable and continuously
re-tested for flame retardancy, smoke and toxicity to reduce the risk of
fire.
